In 2012, Primož Roglič decided on an unusual life change - he put ski jumping aside and replaced it for bike racing. For two years in a row (2019 and 2020), he celebrated his wins at the Spanish Vuelta, and in 2020 also at the French Tour de l'Ain.

He made history with a dramatic and top performance with a big turnaround on the penultimate stage of the Tour de France when he crossed the finish line second behind the winner Tadej Pogačar. In 2020, due to unfortunate falls, he left the Tour de France early, and only a few weeks later, he was the first Slovenian cyclist to win a gold medal in the time trial at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Dutch Team Jumbo-Visma, where he still rides today.

On September 6, 2020, Primož Roglič was the first Slovene to win a yellow jersey at the famous Tour de France 2020, and he was the first Slovene to take home a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
