Pipistrel is an innovative Slovenian company that pushes the boundaries in the aviation industry. It is the only company in the world that currently has four different models of electric aircraft in series production and sales: Taurus Electro, Alpha Electro, Velis Electro Non-TC and Velis Electro EASA Type-certified.
Velis Electro represents an important milestone in the pursuit of sustainable aviation. The electric two-seater is intended primarily for pilot training and represents the first step towards commercializing larger electric aircraft. The use of electric passenger and cargo aircraft is essential if emission-free aviation is to become a reality one day. Velis Electro is the first electric aircraft to receive an official certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which confirms its reliability and safety and allows its use for commercial purposes. Thanks to revolutionary technologies, materials, and electricity use, it reduces the cost per hour flown below the magical limit of EUR 50. The electric motor provides immediate full power without warming up, and the elements of the powertrains have a much longer lifespan than piston-powered aircraft. Pipistrel is one of those wonders that proves a small company can produce unique aircraft used worldwide. Pipistrel's mission is to shape the future of aviation by developing and providing state-of-the-art environmentally friendly solutions that are, above all, safe. Pipistrel engineers are already developing new crewless trucks and a 19-seater hydrogen fuel cell aircraft that will change existing air freight traffic in the European market.
