For centuries, the Adriatic Sea has fascinated travelers and invited them to come from all over the world.
The short 43 km of coastline offers exceptional diversity - the cities are intertwined with the countryside, the beaches with natural parks and salt pans, the quiet sea bays with the wavy sea. Mesečev zaliv (Moon Bay), surrounded by the highest flysch cliff in the Adriatic Sea, offers incredible biodiversity, clean bathing waters and the most beautiful views of the sunset. From there, we can head along the scenic footpath that leads across Strunjan, and the salt pans all the way to the church of St. George in Piran, where the view opens up to three countries: Slovenia, Croatia and Italy. In addition to the rich Venetian heritage, Piran proudly presents Fleur de Sel or the "flower of salt", which are precious salt crystals obtained in the Piran salt pans in the traditional way.
